John Weaver Conservation is delighted to announce the completion of £2.5 million refurbishment on the former 18th century Coach House for the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Coach House has been converted into the official Welsh residence of their Royal Highnesses, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. 

The project includes barn conversions into a large dining hall and extending barns to encompass the former Coach House courtyard.

Restoration works include -

• Hydraulic lime plaster externally
• Internally glaster and hemp lime plaster utilising recycled bottled glass instead of sand to avoid quarrying marine sand extraction
• Welsh green oak for hand-crafted trusses and dowelled beams, Welsh flagstones and marble stone including stooled windowsills and carved stone fireplaces
• Carved stone Norman arch including leaded lights
• Sheep's wool insulation
• Welsh slate roofs
• Welsh oak floors
• Recycled fuel by means of woodchip biomass boiler for heating and hot water
